Gluck Estates Chardonnay 2022
Chardonnay 2022 Gluck Estates Chardonnay. The soil remembers.
A wine of two paths, brought into perfect harmony. Seventy percent rests on its lees in stainless steel for a full year, preserving freshness and the clean minerality of Etyek's loess and clay soils. The remaining thirty percent matures in new Hungarian oak, adding warmth, structure, and a whisper of the forest. Together, they produce something greater than either could alone. It pours a luminous gold-yellow, inviting and unhurried. The nose is generous — ripe apple and citrus with a soft ribbon of vanilla and the faintest suggestion of butter. On the palate, refreshing acidity keeps everything lively and precise, while a hint of minerality anchors the wine in the limestone bedrock below. The finish is long and creamy, a quiet, lingering reminder of the care — and the history — poured into every bottle. Crafted by winemaker Elod Szijjarto, formerly of Bond, Harlan, and Promontory, with a reverence for Hungarian tradition and an eye toward the world.
A natural companion to roasted chicken, aged Gruyère, or a table worth gathering around.
